Section 2.1: Graphing Quadratics
This section introduces methods to graph quadratic functions, identify vertex, axis of symmetry, intercepts, and determine end behavior.
Example 1: Graph \( f(x) = x^2 - 4x + 3 \)
Vertex: \( x_v = 2, y_v = -1 \)
X-intercepts: x = 1, 3
Y-intercept: y = 3
Practice Problems
- Graph \( f(x) = x^2 + 2x - 3 \)
- Graph \( g(x) = -x^2 + 6x - 5 \)
- Find vertex and intercepts of \( h(x) = 2x^2 - 8x + 6 \)
